Committee
Kristen Gendron
My name is Kristen Gendron, and I have been teaching at Riverview School for 15 years.  Fourteen of those years have been in 6th grade, and I am currently teaching 7th and 8th grade Math and Algebra.  I believe that each teacher, although already a leader in his/her own classroom, can implement and lead a program or event to improve the climate and create a unique educational experience for all students.  Children want and need an environment that will nurture and expand their love of learning and belonging, and teachers have the ability to share that with their students.  I have presented to area teachers at a Wilmot High School consortium in-service as well as the Blue Ribbon Conference in South Carolina about an all school writing program that I coordinate.  I will be doing the scheduling for the Leading Leaders in Education Conference.

Nick Kysely

My name is Nick Kysely and I have held multiple roles at Riverview Elementary School over the last 5 years.  Initially, I was brought in to integrate technology into the curriculum, train the teachers on purchased hardware and software, and troubleshoot building technology issues.  After completing my degree at Cardinal Stritch University, and completing licensure for the Instructional Technology Coordinator, I headed up a new role of oversight of the school's technology purchasing, technology curriculum development, network administrator, and overall technology guru.  I believe that students need to learn to use the resources available to them so that they may enhance content being taught in the classroom.  A student that knows how to use technology to find an answer is a resourceful student.  I am looking forward to the opportunity to share my experiences and knowledge on Web 2.0 tools, open source software alternatives, and the importance of technology to today’s students.  My role includes determining technology needs for the conference as well as developing the website.

Jenny Dziewior

My name is Jenny Dziewior and I have been teaching kindergarten at Riverview Elementary School for the last 6 years.  Previously, I have taught in a variety of Early Childhood settings including daycare, Preschool/Pre-K, Pre-K at risk and 2nd Grade, and have presented at the Illinois Pre-K/K conference, Whitewater Early Childhood Conference, and Blue Ribbon Conference, as well as at staff and local in-services.  I believe that children learn best through quality hands on instruction and strive to balance developmentally appropriate practices with high expectations.  I welcome the chance to share my beliefs and practices with others and hope that this conference will give other quality educators a chance to share their talents with their peers as well.  In addition, I will be doing a variety of odd tasks that will be thrown under the guise of “marketing”.

Joe Dawidziak

My name is Joe Dawidziak and I am the Principal at Riverview School in Silver Lake, Wisconsin.  I have been a 6th and 8th grade teacher for 8 years and am currently entering my 5th year as Principal here.  My interest in this conference stems from my own experiences attending and presenting at other conferences.  I believe we have a golden opportunity to fulfill a huge professional development need in education in the area of leadership.  I also believe that a key component of student success is the building of leadership capacity among administrators, teachers, students, and the community.  My role on the Leading Leaders In Education Conference Committee is dealing with issues relating to Human Resources.  We want you to love this conference and to keep coming back for more.

Stacy Evans

My name is Stacy Evans.   This is my 11th year teaching at Riverview School in Silver Lake, WI.  I have taught 4th grade, 7th grade Reading/Language Arts, and I am currently teaching 7th grade Civics and Geography.  I believe that learning is a lifelong process and that we as educators are responsible for leading students to a discovery of a love for learning that will stay with them throughout their life.   In the past I have presented to colleagues within my district and consortium, and recently I was selected to present at an international conference in South Carolina.  At this conference I recognized the need for a similar conference in Southeastern Wisconsin where teachers can learn more about becoming effective educational leaders.  I will be involved with financial matters for this conference as well assisting with accommodations.

Debbie Feld

My name is Debbie Feld. I have taught 3rd grade at Riverview School in Silver Lake for the past 18 years.  I consider myself very fortunate to be able to teach children in the same school that I attended and graduated from.  I have personally witnessed how the climate and the culture of a school can directly influence the educational opportunities of the students being served.  By developing future educational leaders, we can ensure that all future students will have continuous opportunities for a quality and successful educational experience.  My personal role on this committee is dealing with financial matters and accomodations.  I sincerely hope you will find this conference to be stimulating and rewarding both personally and professionally.
